In March 2024, I was sent by The New York Times to document the plan of energy giant Eni in collecting carbon dioxide and pumping it into natural gas fields that have been exhausted. The report, written by journalist Stanley Reed, took place over two days, between Milan and Casalborsetti in the province of Ravenna, and involved not only Eni's laboratories but also the mayor of Ravenna, Michele De Pascale, Eni's CEO, Claudio Descalzi, and Guido Brusco, the energy company's director of natural resources.
